Shari Nyce began her training as a dancer. She was a principle ballet
dancer with the Princeton Ballet for many years. She then went into the
field of Modern dance. She worked with various companies and choreographers
including Twyla Tharp.
She started teaching
Pilates in 1988. She discovered this technique in an attempt to find a way
to increase her strength as an athlete. Not only did this help her dance,
it also afforded her the strength and agility to try many new things such
as; flying trapeze, circus fabrics, boxing, martial arts, running, biking,
and weight lifting.
Shari has studied
extensively in California, New York, Atlanta, Scotland, and London. She has
been through certifications with Physical Mind, Stott, and BASI. She also
holds certifications in Gyrotonic, and will be a pre trainer for GYROTONICŪ and
GYROKINESISŪ in the near future. She holds a yoga certification. She practices
and teaches the Anusara style of yoga. Shari is a certifying instructor for
Body Arts and Science International and will be holding courses at her
studio. Shari is also back in school, working towards her degree as a
Physical Therapist.
Shari has had a
successful business in Los Angeles since 1993. She recently decided to move
back to New Jersey with her three little girls. She is looking forward to
the opening of her new studio and to working with the community of the
greater Princeton area.
